Spring Blossom

My all time favourite blossom! Blooming nice and early this year!

Winter Wonderland

Here are some of my favourite photos taken recently of the wintery conditions. I love snow, it gives a wonderful ‘fairy’ atmosphere to everything especially the trees.

You can ‘get away’ with shooting straight at the sun in winter because it’s so weak. This shot taken as we walked through the local cemetery has a sort of ‘eerie’ cold feel to it.

Look closely and you should be able to spot that this tree is chockablock with apples! In the middle of winter! I had to take a shot of this unbelievable sight.

No sitting down admiring the flower beds now!

Just some of my all time favourite shots that we took on Friday when we visited York St Nicholas Fayre.

If it wasn’t for the houses in the background you could imagine your back in Victorian times!

The hustle and bustle that is Christmas shopping in York.

Two photos taken of some of the wares available to buy from the St Nicholas Fayre market stalls.

There was even a street pianist to cheer up weary shoppers!

And overlooking the whole proceedings, the towering and magnificent York Minster.

Capturing a Frosty Morning.

How can you capture a frosty morning with a camera? Is it impossible to do? I set off on a recent photo shoot to try and capture frost and the coldness that can numb your weary bones. Here is the result.

The frost gives an etched appearance to these leaves as they lay on the floor.

Here’s a lone leaf etched in frost.

And here is is trapped inside someone’s footprint in the grass.

The light at this time of year casts such long shadows across the ground. It etches the trees in stark silhouette now they are bare of their clothing of leaves.

Did I manage to capture the cold and the frost? Only my viewers can answer that question.

This brought back many happy memories of my childhood! The rocks on Cayton Bay.
